Kealoha Fox, Ph.D.

President, Institute for Climate and Peace

Location: Honolulu, HI

Dr. Kealoha Fox is a Native Hawaiian scientist and health professional who has dedicated a body of her work on climate change impacts on human and social well-being. Dr. Fox reports that while climate change is a global issue facing all of humanity, each place, and its children, will experience its impacts differently, with their experiences mediated through the relationship between people and place. Island communities have been found to have a greater vulnerability to climate change. Dr. Fox’s report provides vital context as to how those who are rooted in Hawai’i, including youth plaintiffs, uniquely experience impacts from climate change to their mental health and well-being.
